Fat Cat Problems?

I have a Siamese cat snowshoes, which is 8 and is like 16 pounds overweight and has a lot of excess fat i just give a can of wet cat food which he shares with an American Shorthair slightly larger and then has a dispenser of dry cat food that you can access when we are not at home and a large amount of water that a cat is indoor and outdoor access to the house, but a lot of backyard to roam and climbing walls and chairs and stuff and shadows and how to put on but likes to be in my room anyway I'm looking for ways to slim it down a bit, because I am afraid of health problems and diabetes can you please give me advice, because I really love it's like the animal equivalent of a best friend (like old yeller, but much less active)

I do not know where you live but in the UK there is a diet food called Hills Science Plan r / D, one of my cats is on. If you can not get that I'm sure your veterinarian may recommend an alternative. Also here in the UK many veterans run free clinics weight with free cat weighed and advise the so weight loss may be an idea to get signed to one of these, if you can. Also I personally would not dry biscuits all day. I would give menu of the day both days, in three small portions if possible. I also agree with who said he does not go by what the lable says. This is what you need to buy more cat food is not in the best interest of your cat. Most cats get two meals a day but if your cats are greedy, three smaller ones should help. Lots of play time can also help a bit, get that toys and deal with things around your garden. Your best bet is to find yet a clinic near you weight and develop a diet plan for your cats, so you may be able to stick to it easier.
