I recently tried to switch to wet food for my cat ….?
and it does not eat at all i hand feed unless Ive tried to mix it but stilll didn't eat. so I wanted to get some healthy food dry as well, but I know that wet food is what a cat should eat, but my cat is starving and I know that more water supplies, but I have a source of cat and seems to play a lot. so I'm asking is: I can give my cat a little dry food and raise welfare with a bowl of water
Hello, No reverse please. You have made a wise decision and a little set back should not have to run back to dry food. I know it's difficult to see your cat died of starvation. The main problem of transition from one addicted to dipping croquettes is its resistance to change. You can still pull this, but you have to be patient with him. If you eat when hand fed him, that's good. At least we know that is not wet food they do not like is the way they are serving. try elevating your meal so it is a couple of inches off the ground. Sit next to him while eating and encourage by allowing you to lick your hand if that's what he wants. Like when weaning a kitten formula, you have to do the same. Place your hand slowly toward the plate and allow him to lick it from there. This may take a while but everything worthwhile. From what they're saying, we can be sure dry food that is really suitable for the owner. Therefore, it does your cat. Cat can go a couple of hours without eating, but certainly not to the point of dying hunger. Try warming the food may therefore have a very appealing aroma. When hungry enough, hopefully, you eat, whether your hand or on your plate. Good luck, take its course and be alert! Edit: Georgia B, the bond that has always obsolete. The advice was way back in 2005 and much has changed in feline nutrition since then. And a lot of EFP are strangers when it comes to feline nutrition. Most of his time is spent practicing their medical knowledge and not keep up with evolving field of feline nutrition.
