Is it better to feed a variety of flavors of canned food or feed is good for only 1 flavor if it is my favorite cat?
I my cats Iams dry cat food. In addition, twice a day, give them each half a small can of wet food from Iams. I can say that your favorite flavor is definitely the ocean whitefish scarf because every last bit of it:) My question is: Is it better to feed a variety of flavors of canned food (Chicken, beef, lamb, etc), that is nutritious, well to feed only the taste they love (ocean whitefish)? Thanks for your help! My cats are 4 years old, indoors. I have to feed twice daily wet food because one of my cats take an antibiotic (doxycycline) twice a day and the vet recommended to wet food with water after making sure that the pill decreases and does not cause irritation of the esophagus. They get 1.5 ounces of wet food twice a day, so that only 3 oz (The very small can) daily total. Dry food is the formula weight control interior.
I am a technician licensed veterinarian, and most important is that your cat to get proper nutrition. As long as you are feeding a decent brand of cat food official in really does not matter what flavor the food. It is necessary that this is not the cat and dog food, which lacks taurine supplements cats and other vital needs. The flavors are mostly by companies newly added to the owner feel better to express their class pets, animals do not care much. Cats are known to be more picky eaters than other animals, however, and sometimes changing tastes or textures of food will encourage them to eat better. Sounds like you really care about their cats a lot, and I'm glad you give them mostly dry food, which does wonders for your teeth. A small amount of canned food is understandable, and if they are happy with the fish white sea only then that is perfecftly well. 
. In general, the Hills and Science Diet are the best brands to feed their pets (and I think it's okay Purina too.) Thanks for being so concerned owner! It is veterinary technicians like me very happy:-D
