Question about food and eosinophilic Rx Complex …?
My cat 3 I was diagnosed with eosinophilic granuloma complex a year ago. Vet gave us a spray steroids for their cracked feet and said the change to the color of his bunk and perfume free. The spray does not help at all, but changing the garbage immediately clarified their sores lip. Long story short, we ended up taking him to a vet again, after we moved, because the legs were very chapped and swollen. Our vet again said it appeared that he had a very mild form of the disease, and put it on a test within three months of IVD Rabbit & Green Pea feed formula. Rx diet is therefore you can only buy at the vet, to be delivered normally, and is also $ 35 per pound 8-bag. I would give my life for my cats, but how I paying, I have only seen a very minimal improvement. However swollen and cracked, just a little bit smoother. Does anyone have any experience with this disease? Should I maintaining diet, even if it is really working? Serious replies only please:)
Well, my cat has a very mild (just a slightly lower lip swollen … although badly swollen plantar time and thought it was an insect bite, but until recently reading something I did not know that could appear on the feet), and eat high quality foods and have trash corn and the lip is still swollen (although hasn't swollen foot again since the change liters). One thing that is heard regularly is that cats with this disease may have an allergy to plastic (since it is much bacteria, so), so if you havent tried, I would have broken of all plastic dishes and toys for a trial period. As for the food, I checked the list of ingredients and is very limited, which is good, but does this mean his singing cat still has an allergy to peas or rabbit. trial runs for food should last for 6-12 weeks. if theres no improvement there, usually its time for the next test run. is possible that a commercially prepared raw diet (grains and vegetables is free) or commercial canned food (such as duck Inova Evo venison or formula that is grain and vegetables free) are some significant help. its obviously also important that the cat is not irritating the paw licking or bite. will cost some money at first, but for the most part, prescription diets are much more expensive than necessary … for you are going to have to make some research, but food is available without a prescription can be equally useful. You may also want to ask your vet about a supplement of fatty acids (omega 3 / 6 's) which usually can help with any skin condition.
