A review of holiday debt by John Lanchester

One of my greatest pleasures is eating, so I cook. Taste, therefore I cook. I like tasty food prepared with fresh ingredients that address all four of our tastes – salt, sour, sweet and bitter – to create a complementary whole. Of course, it is now the fifth flavor, UNAMI, the expansion of the universe in soy sauce, which can amplify other inputs. I just made an English pie with chicken, mushrooms, bacon diced a bit, spices and fresh herbs. Is moistened with broth and egg before being baked in my own short-crust. gravy and fresh vegetables together is all will need. So, is sweet, salty and bitter, but it lacks acidity. A squeeze of lemon over the vegetables to compensate.

For expansion, take a novel highly related to cooking and reading. Try the recipes, but proceed with caution. Cook thoroughly before committing things through to taste. John Lanchester debt pleasure is my recommendation. It is a very original, very informative cookbook written by a Tarquin Winot, an expert on the subject.

In one of the most original books I've read, John Lanchester creates a true anti-hero. Too often, the concept can be ironed on a character who's a naughty naughty child doing often repulsive things, the concept of "hero" who are often ignored. Tarquin Winot, the anti-hero of debt with pleasure, is a brilliant cook learned. It is also very creative with ingredients that only those who are preparing for a purpose that choose to use. It is also a kind of psycho, maybe. That's for you to judge. But he survived to write his book of recipes and flavors apparently his retirement, courtesy of which he has nurtured.

The debt pleasure is a magnificent novel. Tarquin narrative draws the reader, perhaps unaware, in his world, evoking an empathy with and for the character. We have so far only partially cook came to know this brilliant only becomes evident as we move through life, a life that has been sprinkled with his personal peccadilloes. But above all, Tarquin Winot is both a planner and a perfectionist. His culinary creations are intended to read as to provoke particular responses dramas, to achieve ends premeditated. They are also successful, appreciated by those who consume their beverages, and finally get precisely the way it plans and executes.

At all times, John Lanchester prose is a delight, as a stimulant for the mind and the creations of his character could be the palate. Florida and extravagant could be at times, perhaps too butter and cream for some diets. But the debt with pleasure is a satisfying, surprising and ultimately fulfilling read. Tarquin fulfills both aspects of the anti-hero and ultimately we still struggle with the nature of self-obsession and selfishness.
