Reading Cat Body Language
Cats are very communicative with body language and sounds. They are often stereotyped as distant and uncommunicative because its solitary nature and independence. I doubt that cats living in the wild communicate the same as our domestic cats. In my opinion, the domestic cat probably learn to communicate with body language and the sounds of their fellow humans and other pets.
My Persians, Taz and Fairy, are 8 months of age. Are starting to communicate more than when I got them at 8 weeks of age. It's really interesting to sit quietly with them and see what they have to say to me through his eyes and body language. Of course, probably interpret what they are saying according to my own feelings, background and details of my own personality.
Sometimes, I barely recognized me tale in space, and then at other times, it will make a point to put their legs my knees to make direct eye contact with me, she seems to say: "I want to be with you." I pick it up, look deep into his eyes with his eyes wide open, and Sometimes it starts to pat me on the shoulder with a paw. I feel she is probably saying, "I really like you, Mom" or "I love you." She is purring quite so. The tour lasts 5 minutes or so and then jumps back to its perch window or some other favorite place in your space.
Fairy also interprets my body communications and knows exactly what will happen. When I'm in bed, ready to put your daily treatment of mild Fancy Food Festival in their bowls, comes quickly to start to bite on your plate. Fairy eat treat the sink (the sink is in the area of cat breeding and separate from mine). At other times, the sink, I prepare the face cleaning powder and liquid. Fairy knows this is not something you can eat. She watched to see what I'm doing and when it is determined that it is not food, not even try to get near the sink. He learned the difference in what he was doing in the sink by observing my body language. I said nothing to her with words.
Anyone who thinks that only dogs are communicative is quite misinformed or misguided. Cats communicate very effectively. We just have to see in silence and hear what they have to say. Of the three cats I have now, Fairy is the only one who wags his tail like a dog when happy and content.
The following is a list of simple body language communications as determined by cat behaviorists:
• · arched back, hair tip: Between cats, this could mean "play with me." With older cats, can mean "leave me alone." If the motion is accompanied by a deep growl, stiff movement or eye solid, probably one can conclude that the cat does not want to be bothered at the moment.
• · Kneading with paws: This is usually seen only in small kittens. Behavioral cat that this may be the kitten trying to comfort himself. It is not usually seen adult cats. My diamond does this when I hold. I felt she could have done this with his mother "cat", while nursing.
• Not wipe the leg: This is natural marking behavior of cats. Taz does this while I'm at the sink preparing their food. tale is in the upper counter, and Taz is at my feet, rubbing his face against my legs. Cat behaviorists say that the cat is covered with pheromones from glands on the face for you and everyone else space group will have a comforting smell. You can also get favorable attention for a cat that leads to strokes. Taz assume I knew something was happening especially for him and he really liked was petting me for preparing meals.
• · Whistle: A hissing cat is not happy all, and a warning that is best left alone. tale is the only cat so far has made some horrendous hissing sounds at me. This was during his bath. In general, cats hate water. Unfortunately, they have to be bathed from time to time. A Persian cat does well with a bath every two weeks. I spoke softly to Fairy, made very movements slow, turn the water on the first while talking softly to her, wrapped in a towel, allowing only the head outside until he relaxed enough to sink and develop their tap water and then preceded by the shower. It was still not happy, but got over it. After his bath, and dry hating and kick her feet as if to sling the water back in my face. She tolerated things until it dries, and then was so happy, she began to roll on his back and purr. The cats like how they feel after a bath, but very much hate the water and bath time. Takes a little patience, but they learn to tolerate after a while.
Animal experts say that when a cat on your belly rolls and naked, he or she is giving you the ultimate compliment, and it is their way to say that you trust. Hada message received after the bath and blow dry as just that – a compliment, or say "thank you, I feel better now."
While on the subject of cats and water, simply, why do many cats hate water? Some theorize that there are several reasons for this that includes:
• · Cats descend from arid regions
• • To have terrestrial prey
• · They are fussy groomers (think there is any need for them, as there are always clean)
Animal experts say that our house modern cats lived in semi-arid regions of Africa. These wild cats obtained water from the food and the need to learn to live without a source of drinking water. They say cats do not really "hate" the water is only by their instinct they inherited from over hundreds of generations ago tells them "there is no good reason to dip their toes in the water. "Actually, this is the message I hear from my cats. look at me as saying:" I just think you're doing here, I do not need this. "
